The Obligatory Welcome

Hello world!

For those of you who have come from a link I have posted on my socials: yes, I have moved my blog over from blogger to wordpress.  I have done so because blogger has been giving me lots of issues lately and although I love being able to write and publish there, I wanted something that was a little more user friendly.  Hence, the move.  Thanks for coming along with me.

For those of you who have never heard of me before: welcome!  My name is Aly and I am currently a sophomore in college.  I am majoring in elementary education with an emphasis in English.  I love to write, read, listen to Pentatonix, and travel.  I struggle a lot with this whole thing we consider to be “adulting” and, rather than just be confused alone, I thought I would share the struggles with you all!  Sometimes maybe as an encouragement, other times I may just need to vent. Whatever the case, I do hope that we can relate and maybe draw strength from each other when we need it.  In order to do that though, we need to get to know each other.

Now, I’m not a huge fan of the boring, traditional questions that everyone asks when they meet someone new.  It’s annoying to have to answer the same questions over and over again.  With that in mind, here are some questions that you can answer in the comments below so we can get to know each other!

  1. What is your name? (Sorry, that one is kind of important.)
  2. Where is your favorite place in the world to be (that you have been to before)?
  3. What is your dream place to live?
  4. If you could do anything and not fail, what would you do?
  5. Are you working towards your answer to #4 right now?

Here, I’ll go first!  Like I said, my name is Aly.  My favorite place to be is London.  I went on vacation for a week there last summer and I immediately tried to go back.  Unfortunately I have this thing called a job and school and neither of those are located in London.  I would love to be able to live in London, but to be honest, I would just love to live in a city.  Los Angeles, Chicago, New York City, London, etc.  You get the idea, right?  Ultimately, if I could do anything and know that I would be able to survive off of it, I would love to write.  I think it would be fun to write fictional stories, but I need some more practice before I start seeking out a publishing deal.  For now, I stick to writing nonfictional narratives about my “exciting” life.  So, in a sense, I am working towards my dreams, I’m just not where I want to be yet.  That’s what the work is for though.

I’d love to get to know all of you.  If you are comfortable, leave me a comment. 🙂 It doesn’t have to be long.

Until next time my friends,

P.S. I am going to move over some of my favorite blog posts that I wrote over on blogger here before I start publishing new content.  So, for those of you who have moved over with me, I’ll warn you when I actually start publishing new content.  Of course, you can always follow the blog and get notified when I post.  🙂  I wouldn’t be opposed to that at all.
